This is a full-time permanent need. This is an Intellectual Property Law firm with approximately 100 members on staff. This firm has offices in Chicago and Washington State. This firm provides comprehensive legal services to obtain and enforce clients' intellectual property rights, from navigating patent office procedures to litigating complex infringement actions. They prosecute patent and trademark applications in both the U.S. and abroad, handle intellectual property litigation matters in trial and appellate courts across the country, and counsel clients nationwide and worldwide on the enforcement and defense of their intellectual property rights. Our client is seeking someone with a Master’s or PhD in Engineering in any of the following disciplines: Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Candidates should have strong experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting legal research, and providing technological advice in support of validity, infringement and patentability analyses, patent application preparation and prosecution, and litigation matters in their related Engineering discipline. Our client has a first class working space with many on-site amenities with an emphasis on quality and professionalism second to none. This position, which has an ASAP start, is intended to last about three months. Qualified candidates must be familiar with Oracle AR system for purpose of collections along with good computer skills with knowledge of MS Word, Excel and navigation around the Internet and emailing. The duties primarily consist of pulling up customer accounts, making collection calls and processing credits. This is a fast paced AR Dept. You must be comfortable & experienced making business-to-business collection calls. Experience Requirements · One plus years of AR Oracle experience (Required) · Two plus years experience in an AR department · Experience in credit and collections · Experience with Vertex Knowledge Requirements · Credit and collection law · General accounting procedures · Financial statement analysis · General understanding of bankruptcy law Pay for this position is $16/hr.     Seeking a Direct Hire Full-Time Financial Analyst 1 (CPA) in Chicago Loop Our client, a leading third party private equity asset manager with $2.4 billion in assets under management, has an immediate need for a Financial Analyst 1. The employee must be someone who has a high level of interest in private equity. Summary The employee will be part of the finance team as an accounting professional. It is essential that the employee work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management, staff, as well as clients, external partners and vendors. The employee will be responsible for the following: · Support the month-end close, tax filings and financial reporting processes. · Review and verify private equity fund transactions recorded by a third party service provider. · Post entries to the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and maintain supporting documentation · Coordinate invoice payment processes to insure accurate and timely payment. · Assist in the preparation of the reports and presentations for senior management. · Provide support for the development and preparation of the annual budget. · Analyze and document variances from budget on a periodic basis. · Assist in coordinating the quarterly and annual tax return processes. · Review internal controls; make recommendations for improvements and update documentation as required. · Prepare required deliverables for year-end financial statement audits and quarterly reviews. Education, Training & Experience · 2-4 years of accounting or auditing experience in financial services. Big four experience a plus. Experience with partnership accounting a plus. Experience in private equity a plus. · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA or pursuing CPA required. · Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems as necessary. · Superior knowledge and expertise of Microsoft products a must; travel & expense systems, SunGard, Investran and QuickBooks experience a plus.
